Toasty Winter: Enter to win Uggs!

I can already feel the treacherous cold seeping in through my windows and forcing me to take a heavy blanket while the sun is still shining brightly outside. Winter is very deceptive. You never know when it arrives. You just wake up one day and have the 'oooohhhhhh, it's so cold! When did it get so cold?' scenario.

And then, yesterday, either I grew tall in a one night's time - which is frankly impossible because I have been this height since AGES - or my blankets grew short. Either way, I woke up with frozen feet.
Very pretty, I know.

I was telling this to my cousin with great anguish during breakfast and then she told me that she wore shoes to bed. And I was like, 'Really?!'.
She told me to try Uggs. I see displays of these shoes everywhere but I never try them on. Never considered it, I suppose.

I tried my sister's and goodness, they were so soft and warm! My feet instantly felt as if they were holidaying in the Bahamas. It was that good.
(But I would never wear them to bed. My sister has the strangest ideas. And besides, it's not too good for your blood circulation.)

Uggs could be worn with anything but I think it looks best with jeans tucked underneath.

NaNoWriMo Fever

I know, I know - Where have I been all this time? You could say I have returned from a very long vacation. So many things have happened - Twilight movie was epic fail (not that the books were great to begin with), New Moon is also coming (which I admit, I will watch with feverish excitement...Taylor is so easy on the eyes), Studs came into fashion (woohoo!), Taylor Swift turned up with an obscenely catchy song and oh yes, I am going to have a new cousin!

Now if that isn't exciting, I don't know what is! My new-shall-be-born-soon cousin and I will have a humongous age difference but lucky him, he'll have someone showering gifts all over him. I am almost green with envy.

Anyway, how has everyone been? I won't be posting anything today because I have to rush but I just wanted to remind everyone to join NaNoWriMo!

NYC Premiere: Sex and the City

Only a few days left for the movie to hit the big screen
and my nerves are all piling up at one point.
I am that excited.
The movie just had its NYC premeire and here's how the world's favorite women dressed up:

Sarah Jessica Parker was dressed in a silver coloured floor-length Nina Ricci gown and 19th-century jewels from Fred Leighton and I am incredibly in love with the dress! So gorgeous!

Why do I feel like Kim Cattral has lost her mind? Or her designer?
Oh, yes, the boobs.
Yeesh, Kim! What happened?

Cynthia Nixon looks washed out and terribly weak. The dress hangs on her neck.
Not the best choice.

Kristin Davis looks absolutely stunning in this Donna Karan number.
I think she looks awesome and so very very cute!
I adore the dress on her and she deserves a big pat on her back!

How To Use:
Apply to dried hair. Rub a small amount of creme between palms. First, "pull" through under layers of hair, concentrating on ends where hair is the driest. Then, smooth hands lightly over surface. Use more to tame trouble spots. Reapply, as needed.

Caution: This might not agree with some hair types. It didn't agree with my mom at all.
But you should give it a try. It might just be your type.

We had Paris Hilton's clip-ons a few days back and now we have Lindsay's new range of leggings.
I'm not even kidding.
Firstly, I accept Paris's clip-ons. You can't really expect much from the Heiress so...
Secondly, I despise Lohan's love for wearing-leggings-without-skirt attitude. Honestly, she really likes showing off her crotch! That seems the only possible reason. I mean, seeing how rich she is, she honestly can't be short of skirts now, can she?
Her new line 6126, again is another homage to Marilyn Monroe, who was born on 6/1/26.

Mother's day is around the corner and not only do I have to buy a gift for my mom but also for my sister. The twins are well...too young to know what not to buy.
My sister is extremely picky.
So they dropped into my house last night with cries of, "Please, Aunty Aurora! We love you!"
My brother-in-law just grinned and shrugged.
Traitor.

I'll start with my sister. I wanted to get her something that would touch her heart. Fortunately, I had just received a hallmark e-newsletter and they had some great stuff which the twins could
give from their own.
There are some really cool recordable cards for just $6.00. I am thinking of calling the twins over and making them sing 'Do re me...'. They love that song and with a cute, "I love you mommy!' ending.
Of course, there will be a bouquet of flowers that will accompany the card. My sister likes lilies,
so it's a safe bet buying them.

Now comes my mom:
My mom is a great woman. She is my mentor, my best friend and my inspiration. I don't know
how I could have gotten through the past few years without her and If I could buy the world for her, I would.

I am so glad I'm alive and well in this world. Honestly, who else will appreciate the beautiful way the stars dressed up for the Met Costume Gala other than me? *grins*

Here's who I fawned over:

Blake shows how to wear a LBD the perfect way. I love this dress on her although it somewhat reminds me of Penelope's dress at the Oscars. The black gloves add an interesting super hero touch.

Dita Von Teese dresses perfectly, I have to admit! I adore this old school glamour dress on her. Where can I find one for myself??

Naomi Watts had a nice dress, and I rather fancy the star. Very Marilyn-Super-Hero-In-One.

Emmy Rossumm is very adorable.
And this dress just made her look even more cuter!
I love it!

Julia Roberts can never fail you. Never. Mark my word. Doesn't she just look
breathtakingly beautiful in this dress?

Diane Kruger was probably the only one to have the guts to wear a short dress. So adorably too! I like those shoes too, although not so much with the dress.

Okay...Does anyone feel like you are seeing a live Barbie? Well, join the club.
I understand the gladiator sandals, in fact I love them, I can also just understand those
supposedly seductive curls (I didn't say it! My boyfriend did!) but what I cannot seem to
decipher is that wretched dress!
It looks like the pink factory blew up or something, while making this dress and she was forced to wear it; life and death matter. At least, that seems like a possible explanation. And the only one I can accept.
But god, isn't this just tad too ridiculous? Heidi Montag has gorgeous legs and her plays it
well with those lovely gladiator sandals, but this dress...

When I saw Emmy Rossum in this long dress, I thought she looked okay. I am not a big fan of this dress and found it to be quite unflattering on her.
Then I saw Jenna Jameson playing with this dress and truth be told, I am quite confused.

Guess who's gracing the cover of Vogue US in May?

Yup, Gwyneth Paltrow. And my god, she looks different. And not even in a bad way!
Gwyneth Paltrow is not known for her fashion sense to the world but this Oscar De La Renta dress on her completely changes my outlook towards her.
Her make up is heavy and the shoots are to promote Paltrow's new movie but you don't see me complaining.

Prom Night for the Stars.

I see strapless gowns everywhere now, its become like a uniform among celebrities and even among my own peers. Which I, am happy to say, don't mind at all! I love how the strapless sweet heart necklines flatter collar bones and jaw lines.
It seems I am not the only one to believe this. The premiere of 'Prom Night' had most of the
stars trailing down the red carpet looking hawt in their strapless gowns.

Brittany Snow looked completely like she was heading for a prom and I so so love her in this
dress! I think she looked like the ultimate prom queen with that flawless make up and jewellery. Those gorgeous chandelier earrings are currently in my 'Must Have!!' List and
she's done well choosing golden strappy sandals with her outfit. Thumbs up for Brittany!

I really actually had no idea who was Minka Kelly before seeing this picture. So far, she seems rather sweet doesn't she?
Although I don't really like those shoes with her dress, she looks good.
The word which comes to mind, however, is plain.

Jessica Stroup has a great body so she even managed to look sexy in this purple fusion of ugly dreams. This dress could have been a pretty one had it not been that flowery part sticking to
her dress on the left. Instead of adding character to the dress, it just ruins the whole effect.

Kelly Preston has always been one of my favorite celebs. Do not ask me why for I don't know it myself but I just like her. Her face has this sweet look that you can't help but like her.

But I was really disappointed with her choice of dress. The dress looked terrible on her and she muddled it even further by adding those hideous tights and the black heels.

When I saw this picture on the web, my first action was, "Oh my!".
Gwyneth Paltrow, who usually turns my hair grey by wearing non sense, for once wore something which actually flattered her. And the hair! So very adorable!
Liz Hurley looked so different, I couldn't register her for a second. I am so used to seeing her with long gowns with slits, this was totally unexpected.
She looks mighty elegant, don't you think? (Places Gwyneth and Liz Hurley in Fashion Greats)
Evelyn Lauder however looked like she was wearing my aunt's curtains. I am not kidding, my aunt is horribly obsessed with pink and a colour like the one Evelyn is wearing is hanging in her bedroom. Think she deserves a position in our Fashion Horrors?

Oh, I'm lusting for this bag so badly! This beautiful shiny piece of bag is so beautiful, I want to cry. I've always liked animal prints(fake ones, mind you) and the croc ones are just the apples of my eye. However, it seems God has another thing in mind. This charming bag is going to cost $2,950.00 (small) and $4,400.00(large).
The pink one comes in a smaller size and I can't decide between either.

Jlo vs Pam

27th of March saw Jennifer Lopez and Pamela Anderson walking down the Red Carpet with a twist (well at least Pamela).

I found Jennifer looking quite...normal. I am so used to seeing her in some odd sparkling, revealing dress that this one took me by surprise.
Especially the neck. (TIP: Try to never wear round necks. They make your chest form an ugly shape.)
But then she's a new mum so I suppose she's taking it easy.

Pamela however lived up to my expectations. Or lack of. Whichever way.
The white dress had the most horrible neck line I have ever seen. Yeah, we all know she's curvy but this...just plain weird.

What do you think? Think they looked hot?

I love Saks Fifth Avenue and I love this dress even more! The cute collar is so very flattering to the neck and jawline! The classic colour can never fail you and nor can the thin leather belt, which is completely this season.
However, the length can be a problem, especially for my legs so I'd team them with a pair of black stockings to make them appear thinner and longer.

The Nick Awards were held yesterday, the 29Th of March and stars trailed down the red carpet, where the teenagers dressed like the stars they are, and the stars dressed like teenagers they are not.

It is said that Rihanna can get away with anything.
I am not so sure its true now.

No, no no! Jennifer, what has happened to your taste? You look gorgeous in the outfits you wear in Ghost Whisperer, so whathappened?

Jordan Sparks wore the right color on the wrong dress. Maybe it's the angle of the photograph that's making her look odd. Let's hope.

Hayden looks gorgeous, like always. She always does in red. The back is a bit unsettling and the bag and shoes don't match with her look, but otherwise, she looks wonderful!

Ashley Simpson is not someone I like but I have to admit, she looks quite good. Her shoes, however, are a different story.

Cameron Diaz is either going through a bad time or her designer has fled. My god, what is she wearing?? She looks like she desperately wants to be a kid. Even kids don't wear stuff like these!

Miley Cyrus is everywhere now. I swear, I see her face on every magazine and channel. She's really hit it big. I like this dress on her. She looks very elegant, doesn't she? And she's only fifteen!

Miranda Cosgrove looks quite nice in her blue dress. Somehow, I don't like the shoes on her. Oh, they are a nice pair. But it doesn't quite fetch the effect Miranda is going for.

Turkey must be really suiting Paris because for once she's wearing something, which actually makes her look pretty!
I know. Took me some time to realize it was Paris.
I was that shocked.

But anyway, I love the yellow dress on her. It makes her look ladylike, don't you think?

There comes a time when I see something online and go, "oooooh....prettyyyyyyy."
And then, "I have to have this!!"
And then again, "Oh. The price."
"..."
Sadly, it happened twice this month. One with a pair of shoes I saw in endless and now with this dress on Kim Kardashian.

Doesn't she look fab? The neck line is very flattering and and dress hugs your body beautifully.

My take: Not seeing the price, I think I'd like the white one more. I am bored with black right now. But who knows? Knowing myself, I'd probably like the black one better tomorrow.

I'm a big fan of skirts. They are so fun and just so...me! You can team them up with practically anything and for any event; be it a formal dinner or just a casual lunch with your girlfriends.
I usually tend to go for gypsy skirts as they hide my thighs but when I feel extra good about something, a mini it is!

Who doesn't love Gossip Girl? The hot guys, the dirty gossip and oh, the gorgeous clothes!
My favorite is of course, Blair Waldrof. What's not to like about her? She's pretty, bitchy and wears the best clothes.
Leighton Meester plays Blair Waldrof on the how and you'd figure she'd have a good taste of
clothes.
However, I am not crazy about this yellow dress she's wearing:

Hmm...Is it me or is the dress translucent? I have nothing against translucent dresses, you know but this dress is just not flattering and sexy.

Aubrey's ghastly choice

I love the song 'Ride for you' by Danity Kane. Its so sweet and I love the girls' voice. I watched quite a number of episodes of Making the Band 3. The girls seemed friendly and I loved Dawn and Aundrea!
The girl I liked least was Aubrey. I don't know why but I got ticked off many times just seeing her on the screen. You can just imagine my face when I saw her in this...this purple nightmare:

Luckily, Aundrea appeared in a very pretty yellow dress with a bow! She balanced the whole scene. Two thumbs up for Aundrea!
